XAT 2023

After the CAT, the XAT exam is India’s most popular management entrance examination. XLRI conducts the XAT exam on behalf of the Xavier Association of Management Institutes. This year’s XAT will be held on January 8, 2023. Apart from XLRI, the XAT exam scores are used by over 100 institutes in India. The XAT score is one of the selection criteria for admission to XLRI’s management programmes.

Candidates must first register online at the XAT exam website before applying separately to each participating institute, including XLRI. More than 90,000 MBA candidates appear for the exam each year. The XAT, widely regarded as one of the most difficult exams, necessitates 6-8 months of concentrated and dedicated preparation.

The following are some key points about the XAT 2023 exam: 

Eligibility Criteria for XAT

A recognised Bachelor’s Degree of at least three years duration or its equivalent in any discipline is required. Those who have completed their final examination by June 10, 2023,  are also eligible to apply. All Indian candidates must take the XAT 2023 exam. On the other hand, NRI and foreign candidates may apply using their GMAT scores.

Application Fee for XAT

  • Registration fee for XAT (without late fee): Rs. 2000/-
  • Candidates interested in XLRI programmes must pay an additional Rs. 200/-fee.
  • For PGDM (GM), Indian candidates can apply through GMAT/GRE, whereas NRI/foreign nationals must take the GMAT for all programmes.
  • Please keep in mind that GRE scores are only valid for PGDM programmes (GM). 
  • Fee: Rs. 2500/-for Indian candidates applying for PGDM(GM) via GMAT/GRE. 
  • Fee for NRI/Foreign Candidates applying to one or more GMAT-based programs: Rs. 5000/-

Important dates to remember:

  • XAT 2023 registration begins on August 10, 2022 and ends on November 30, 2022.
  • The XAT 2023 exam will be held on January 8, 2023.
