    • After the exam, candidates must separately apply to the B-schools that accept CMAT scores.
  6. Scoring:
    • Total Marks: The exam is out of 400 marks (100 questions x 4 marks each).
    • The score is calculated section-wise, and the overall percentile is used by colleges to shortlist candidates for the admission process.
  7. Colleges Accepting CMAT: CMAT is accepted by over 1,000 AICTE-approved institutions, including some of the top management colleges in India, such as:

    • Work Experience: Some institutes may also consider work experience and academic performance as part of the final selection process.
  9. CMAT Exam Preparation Tips:
    • Quantitative Techniques: Focus on speed and accuracy in solving arithmetic, algebra, and geometry questions. Data interpretation problems require good calculation skills.
    • Logical Reasoning: Regular practice with puzzles, seating arrangements, and series will help improve reasoning skills.
    • Language Comprehension: Strengthen vocabulary, grammar, and reading comprehension skills. Reading newspapers and articles regularly can improve reading speed.
    • General Awareness: Keep up with current affairs, particularly in business, economics, and international events. Read newspapers, watch news channels, and refer to GK books or apps.
    • Innovation and Entrepreneurship: Prepare by reading about successful entrepreneurs, business case studies, and the fundamentals of innovation in business.
  10. Unique Features of CMAT:
    • Innovation and Entrepreneurship Section: This section, added recently, is unique to CMAT and tests a candidate’s entrepreneurial mindset. It covers questions related to innovation, startups, business ideas, and problem-solving.
    • Flexibility in Attempting Sections: Unlike some other exams, CMAT doesn’t have sectional time limits, so candidates can allocate time as they see fit across the sections.
  11. Important Points to Remember:
    • Negative Marking: Since there is negative marking for incorrect answers, guessing can lead to a loss of marks. It's important to maintain accuracy.
    • General Awareness: Although many candidates overlook this section, it plays a crucial role in achieving a high overall score, so preparing for current affairs and GK is essential.
    • No Sectional Cutoffs: Most institutes that accept CMAT do not have sectional cutoffs, but a good overall score and percentile are important for admissions.
